Objectives
1. Train scaling partners on theoretical and practical aspects of building and operating energy-efficient small-scale flash dryers for production of HQCF and cassava starch.
2. Improve energy efficiency of 3-5 flash dryers operated by the scaling partners at their own factories, providing technical support in order for them to achieve their targets.
3. Assess economic and environmental sustainability of the improved flash dryers.
GOALS
Scaling Approach for Flash Drying of Cassava Starch and Flour at Small Scale in Colombia, Congo DR and Nigeria
1. Increase processing capacity by at least 25 to 50% by 2022 of 10 to 12 cassava flour and starch factories.
2. Additional demand for cassava roots reaches 10000 tones roots per year by 2022.
3. Additional income generated reaches USD 400,000 per year by 2022, distributed among 660 cassava farming households.
