Summary
An innovative process turns cassava waste into valuable livestock feed and is ripe for scaling out. The process converts three tonnes of fresh peel into one tonne of feed. Enhance and scale up the technical processing of cassava peel into high quality, hygienic and safe livestock feed meeting industry and farmer demand.
GOALS
Scaling the Transformation of Wet Cassava Peels into High Quality Animal Feed Ingredients in Nigeria
1. 5,000 men, women, and youth trained in business opportunities for production of high quality cassava peels (HQCP) in Nigeria.
2. 50,000 female garri processors are selling cassava peels to HQCP mash factories by 2022.
3. 4,000 direct new jobs are created for processors of HQCP mash in cassava growing areas of Nigeria 80% of them women or youth by 2022.
