There is widespread concern across Asia about the potential impact of climate change on food production but cassava is one staple grown in tropical regions that has already demonstrated its ability to be climate change ready. “While rising temperatures might make it harder to grow some crops, Dr Rod Lefroy from the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture says cassava, sometimes known as tapioca, actually has the potential to be grown more widely as conditions change.”
