Summary
Accelerate and support scaling up of biofortified crops for food and nutrition security, and reduce hidden hunger by catalyzing sustainable investment for the utilization of biofortified crops at scale. BNFB purposes to demonstrate how scaling up can be achieved through a concerted effort by a range of CGIAR centers and programs along with community, national, regional, and international partners. 1. Strengthen the enabling environment for investments in biofortified crops
2. Strengthen institutional and community capabilities to produce and consume biofortified crops to demonstrate a scaling-up model through a food basket approach.
GOALS
Building Nutritious Food Baskets: Scaling up Biofortified Crops for Nutrition Security in Nigeria and Tanzania - Phase II
Catalyze policy change, combined with efforts to mobilize resource commitments by governments, development partners, and the private sector. Sought to build national and community capabilities to produce and consume biofortified crops for improved nutrition and increased incomes in both rural and urban areas.
