Activities
The CGIAR Gender and Breeding Initiative will employ a two pronged approach to achieving its objective of helping develop a strategy for gender-responsive breeding with supporting methods, tools and practices:
Innovation Workshop on Gender and Breeding: to be held in October 2017, the workshop will bring together a selected group of social scientists, and plant and animal breeders to contribute to the development of a strategy for gender-responsive breeding with supporting methods, tools and practices. This workshop will build on the findings of an earlier workshop on Gender, Breeding and Genomics that was held in 2016.
Webinars: the Initiative also plans to host a series of webinars, beginning in July 2017 that explore the findings of research undertaken by CGIAR postdoctoral fellows in relation to gender, breeding and agriculture.
