18th Triennial Symposium of the International Society for Tropical Root Crops (ISTRC)

Tropical roots and tubers (cassava, potato, sweet potato, yams and aroids) are collectively the third most important food crops in the world, after sugarcane and maize by production. These crops play important roles in the livelihoods of hundreds of millions in the tropics making significant contribution for income generation, sustainable development and household food security.
The 18th Triennial Symposium of the International Society for Tropical Root Crops (ISTRC) will take place from 22 – 25 October 2018 in Cali, Colombia, bringing together the world’s foremost experts in tropical root crops to share research and experiences. Sessions cover areas including pest and disease management, seed systems, post-harvest loss prevention, biofortification and next-generation breeding approaches.
Pre-registration for the event is now open, and will close on 30 September. The call for abstracts for presentations and posters is also open, until 30 June.
